Our baby calves
We take great care with our young ones. They stay with their mom the first three days and get plenty of colostrum. After that we put them in a pen by themselves so that the mom or other calves don't lick on the baby calf's umbilical cord and rupture it. We also want them to be pass the nursing age of 3 months so that they don't try to nurse on each other and destroy each others udders. Keeping them separated also helps keep disease at a minimal.
On the right you will see (split picture of same animal) that Stella grew up and is expecting her own baby in eleven days.
